Day 21: And Louis Vuitton finally makes sense

by Sara

Up till a couple of days ago Louis Vuitton handbags meant unreasonably expensive purses to me.  Then I went to the Musee des Arts Decoratifs.

Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs is an exhibition about two people, two innovators, two different era. It is not a classic retrospective nor a classic fashion exhibition, but rather a quest to map relations between culture, commerce and fashion. On the first floor Louis Vuitton, a trunk maker and the founder of the brand during the time of the industrialization; on the second floor the work of Marc Jacobs, its artistic director, in the twenty-first century globalization.

107, rue de Rivoli, 75001, Tuesday-Sunday: 11:00-18:00, until 21:00 on Thursdays
